Rally Group Team Night: Building Stronger Teams Beyond the Office

At Rally Group, we know that a successful workplace isn’t built on deadlines and deliverables alone—it’s built on relationships. That’s why we recently stepped away from our desks and headed out for a team night at Dave & Buster's for an evening of games, food, and much-needed laughter.
More Than Just a Night Out
From the moment we walked in, the energy shifted. The usual conversations about projects and schedules were replaced with friendly competition and playful banter. Team members who collaborate daily in meetings were suddenly competing in arcade games, celebrating high scores, and cheering each other on.
One of the most memorable moments of the night happened around the claw machine.
The Great Claw Machine Attempt

A few employees spotted a shiny cell phone sitting inside the claw machine—perfectly positioned to tempt anyone feeling lucky. Naturally, they decided they had to win it.
Strategies were discussed. Angles were debated. Multiple attempts were made.
The claw descended… grabbed the phone… and then dropped it at the last second.
Again.
And again.
After several tries and plenty of credits spent, one employee—fully invested at this point—threw their hands up and declared, “This game is a scam! It’s rigged to make people lose and take their money!”
For a split second, there was silence. Then everyone burst into laughter. Soon, the entire group was agreeing, joking about arcade conspiracies, and replaying the near-wins like sports highlights.
They didn’t leave with the phone—but they left with a shared memory that instantly became part of Rally Group lore.
Why Team Activities Matter
Moments like these may seem small, but they have a lasting impact in the workplace. Team activities are more than just fun—they are foundational to building a productive and positive office environment.
Here’s why:
1. Stronger Relationships Lead to Better Collaboration When employees connect outside of work tasks, communication improves. It’s easier to problem-solve and collaborate when you’ve shared laughs and experiences together.
2. Increased Morale Boosts Productivity Happy employees are engaged employees. Taking time to recharge and bond helps prevent burnout and increases motivation back in the office.
3. Camaraderie Builds Trust Cheering each other on during a silly claw game challenge may not seem significant, but it reinforces support and teamwork. That trust carries over into daily responsibilities.
4. A Positive Culture Attracts and Retains Talent An environment where employees feel connected and valued creates loyalty. People want to work where they feel they belong.
The Real Prize
The Rally Group team may not have won the cell phone, but we walked away with something far more valuable: stronger bonds, shared laughter, and a renewed sense of unity.
Team building doesn’t always have to be formal workshops or structured exercises. Sometimes, it’s about gathering around a claw machine, collectively deciding it’s “rigged,” and laughing together anyway.
At Rally Group, we believe those moments are what truly build a better, more productive office environment.
